Monsoon brings in a much-needed break from the scorching summer heat. But if you are someone who enjoys your morning runs or evening bike rides, the rainy season can be quite an inconvenience. The pleasant weather not only makes it difficult to exercise outdoors or go to the gym but also brings out the Maggi and pakoda lover in you! While there is no harm in enjoying your favourite food, don’t let the rains derail your workout routine. Here are 3 ways in which you can stay fit even during monsoon.
Experiment with new exercise formats
From bodyweight strength training to yoga, zumba, pilates, dancing, and more, you can try a plethora of indoor exercises in the comfort of your home. You can also get creative with staircases, chairs, and other household objects to perform an effective full-body workout.
Invest in some home workout equipment
You do not need to shell out a ton of money to create a mini home gym and stay fit during the monsoon. A yoga mat, a skipping rope, some resistance bands, and one or two pairs of dumbbells are all you need to get in a good workout on days you don’t feel like going to the gym. If you are an absolute beginner, you can also fill up water bottles and use those as dumbbells for your strength training workouts.
Enjoy the rain
It is generally safe to step out for a run or a cycle ride unless there is a torrential downpour and/or lightning. Stay safe during the run and make it more comfortable by opting for reflective gear, a hooded windcheater, and shoes with grooves for additional traction. Use the StepSetGo app to track your monsoon walks, runs, and cycling trips and stay fit even during monsoons!
